Ok heres the emails I sent Joe, he sent me back, Kris sent me and I sent him back. To read this in cronological order, read from the bottom up. Keep in mind I immediately emailed Joe as soon as I read the posts on SSM. You guys should have done the same thing as soon as you read it too. I defended Kris for the most part even though he has banned me from his site. S10forum.com has also banned me for defending myself. I made valid points, shot down their points and nobody posted anything that was a direct answer to a direct question. Oh well, I guess I will defend myself in other forums. Anyway check it out for yourself here and if you would like to comment directly to me please do at mike@dallashotrodparts.com or join my forum at fabricationnation.com
(From Joe to Kris and CC to Me:)
I wasnt trying to take sides but I just decided to tell Joe what I thought about it being a person who has to deal with all the sorry little weasels who talk crap thats not true. None of you know what thats like as a business owner. Especially a business owner that has a business in this scene......peace bitches! now read on.
Kris,
As expected, I did receive a few emails from your members expressing
both Negative and Positive responses. It also gave me the opportunity
to correct some problems that I have not had before.
The most thought out one came from Michael White of Dallas Hotrodparts
below. I have had two days to think about it and I have decided to take
Michael's advice, and take the high road. I will give positive
responses thru my staff on your forum in an honest effort to correct
issues that are valid. Michael simply sent a constructive email.
Scott Spiehler also vented on me, and I happen to agree with him.
Problem is that I would have agreed with him in the past as well, but
sometimes an owner is once or twice removed from the communication loop.
That is why I do not hide under a psuedo name from our customers. I
will continue to handle ALL issues, and even respond nicely to someone
that talks trash.
I only kindly request you to take a look at bashing. Valid complaints
are one thing, but ranting with personal attacks is simply not good for
either of us, or the Trucking Community at large. My opinion, for what
it is worth, is that most members want positive results.
Thank you for your posting, it puts it all out there and It is something
that I would have done as well. I was just stoked over the name calling
in the infamous email. A problem with a product is a personal issue,
not a license for a personal attack from someone that i do not know.
I agree with Michael that I should apologize for my heated response.
Kris, I apologize and hope that we can develop a normalized relationship
with your forum over time for the good of the community.
Sincerely,
Joe Morrow
(From me to Kris:)
Kris I sent him two emails yesterday and I hope he sent you copies of it. I went thru the same thing trying to stop people from bashing me saying things that were not true. I found thre was two ways to deal with it. One was to reply to each one and hammer out facts, which is difficult, and the other is to shut up and make it right. Thats what Im doing.
I hope he decides to take a long hard look at his business and fix the problems he has, and even the ones he doesnt think he has but people are telling him he has. He needs to get back to the street level and deal with the issues. If he can he will be able to save his business, name and reputation.
I would be fine with you posting any and all emails from him to me, me to him and even this one. I realized over the past two years that the moderator or forum owner cannot censor opinion. I wanted forum owners to stop the lying but how can you do that? You cant check facts. you can only stop the needless hating when you see fit.
Kris I have been sending about 1 set of parts every few weeks on all my old orders. Im trying to make it right but understand that some will never order from me again. The sooner Joe understands that the better he will be. He must be at least smart enough to get to where he is. Maybe he will do the right thing.
I will keep making my situation right until Im even. I will keep asking you to reinstate my subscription until you see that I am making it right and paying these people back.
feel free to post this or any emails from me or to me. thanks

I failed to mention a few things, one Im 43 and have been building custom rides since before the minitruck craze hit back in about what 86 or 87. So I have seen the evolution of Aim, Chassistech and others.
I also sell parts thru the internet. I had talked to someone at Chassistech a few years ago about selling my parts wholesale. I asked a few people about Chassistech then and nobody had anything good to say.
I have been reading the forums and I have not found anything yet where someone said anything they were claiming was fact. I do agree that people are on forrums bashing you or your company that should not post at all. I have found only things like the customer service is bad, parts dont fit, things like that. Im sure there are people who are saying things that go beyond opinion and they are trying to float as fact.
I understand that if someone went into a forum and said "I bought a part, it didnt fit and they wouldnt give me my money back" it would be slander or libel if it were not true. That I can understand. I had people in the forums bash me saying I owed "hundreds" of people control arm sets. the actual number was 22 at the time, so that I could have sued for. I chose not to because I knew nothing good would come of it.
I understand that the stakes are much higher for you on this. I also understand you probably feel you have no choice but to at least threaten it to get them to stop. It may work and it may not.
Understand this, I am on your side in the fact that forums should police the threads for people stating facts that are untrue. But how would they know if the statements are true or not. I think the forums can only stop the bashing. I think they cannot stop the opinions good or bad.
If someone says the parts did not look good, fit good or something like that its one thing but saying blanket statements that the parts are "junk" or service "sucks" the forum moderator should warn the person, and remove the offensive posts. but if someone says "I didnt like the customer service" or "the parts didnt fit" thats an honest opinion and should not be moderated or removed.
I apologize for taking up your time while you are dealing with this. I will say once again that I agree with you on some points but I feel that filing a suit would do more harm than good.
Good luck with your business in the future. If I need anything you sell I would certainly buy it from you. I have never been burned by your companies in any way. If I were I as a grown man would evaluate the situation and certainy give you another chance to make it right.

Mike,
I have worked hard for 22 years in this business. I am here to take
care of my customers.
Constructive criticism is one thing, but mindless gutter talk and
bashing is another. No responsible forum should allow uniformed
bashing.
I do really appreciate your email and I find it positive.
Good Luck in your endeavors,
Joe Morrow

Wow, you really show your true colors in those emails. You cannot sue
someone for their opinion and you cannot expect the owner of the site to
check posts for facts.. I know this personally. You will be wasting your
time and your "considerable war chest"
This business and scene is built on word of mouth, forums, and talk on
the streets and at shows. You doing this will come back to haunt you by
keeping people from ever dealing with you whether they have before or
not.
I had to close my business 2 years ago and I finally got to reopen. I
could have sued people over the same things. However I was advised by my
attorney that even single facts and stated facts in a forum cannot be
held against the forum owner or moderator. I could have sued each person
individually. But why? get what? a few bucks IF I win, then everyone
they know is mad at me and never buys anything. I take the high road,
make better parts and eventually sell to many of them.
I also could have filed bankruptcy and quit. But I knew that the scene
and the word of mouth would never let me be in this business again if I
did that. I had to suck it up and come back and send refunds and make
parts to satisfy old orders.
This will be all over EVERY forum within a few days. I as a shop owner
am a member of every sport truck, minitruck, fullsize, and even brand
specific forum. I know these people will never let this get by with the
attitude you show in the emails I saw on SSM.
I dont agree with Kris for posting it on his site but I do see where he
warned you. I think you should show the quality of your company in the
parts you sell and try to address the things people are saying by
improving. You can even go into the forums and defend yourself with
facts.
I know that defending yourself without facts and stooping to the same
old BS they throw at you doesnt work. I have found that asking people to
state facts and answer questions with facts usually shuts them up.
However You may choose not to get bogged down in that mess.
I have a stupidly big ego and could not pass up that opportunity. I wish
you luck in getting this straight and hope that you have the foresight
now to get this cleared up before it really blows up.
I realize you are not likely to take the opinion of someone who has only
owned a small (4,000 sq ft.) shop and had to close it down. I do however
have experience running other businesses.
If you want this to go away just apologize and let the quality of your
parts and service straighten it out. You can still back out and save
face.
